So if you're doing your strength training cycle in a high-intensity period where you're trying to gain muscle then you are trying to put the maximum amount of energy into the exercise in order to do the most amount of work; but if you do it in a low-intensity period and you're trying to lose fat it's not going to work very well and you will end up burning fat, bulking quickly. You will be losing muscle while gaining fat. So why do these different cycles work for different purposes? The reason for this is that there has got to be a balance involved in a weightlifting cycle, bulking up. If you're gaining muscle then you may need more cycles. If you are losing muscle then you may need more cycles. At the end of the cycle, it is almost as if you have a double weightlifting workout, workout bulking. You're building a greater amount and a greater amount of mass.
